Melody C. Miller is an Emmy Award-Winning documentary filmmaker and cinematographer whose clear creative vision and human rights advocacy has made her films a powerful voice for change promoting understanding, empathy, and action.

Winner of the Women in Film Cinematography Award Fellowship, Melody has worked as a cinematographer on projects for organizations such as Samsung, Sony Pictures, HBO, Amazon Prime, Discovery Channel, PBS, Starz, ESPN, Peacock/NBC Universal, Smithsonian Channel, and ITV, among others. 

Melody is passionate about creating impactful and meaningful projects that not only engage but also spark important conversations and drive change. She has produced and directed two critically acclaimed feature documentaries that have had a positive impact on audiences worldwide. California's Forgotten Children sheds light on an important human rights issue, received recognition at the United State Senate for fostering a movement to help protect children. While her electrifying film about one of the influential poets of the Beat Generation, ruth weiss, the beat goddess earned an Emmy Award for Best Historical and Cultural Documentary. She is currently in production on several new projects, including Thriv(h)er about motherhood after cancer.

Melody's artistic journey was shaped growing up in Oakland, California and her early exposure to French and Mediterranean cultures, igniting the roots of her filmmaking career. She graduated from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television and is based in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, but is open to travel.
